Emergencies rarely give us a warning. A sudden collapse. A fall. A cut. A medical emergency. In those first few minutes, knowing what to do—and having someone ready to respond—can make a meaningful difference.
At Emerge at SKICC, RehabNation Healthcare Foundation of India had the opportunity to provide a First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) kiosk, bringing immediate first-aid support closer to participants, visitors and staff attending the event.
A small kiosk with an important purpose
The RehabNation kiosk was established as a point where people requiring immediate first-aid assistance could receive support during the event.

From minor injuries and sudden health concerns to situations requiring an initial emergency response, having trained personnel and essential first-aid resources available within the venue provided an additional layer of safety.
The purpose was simple:
Be present. Be prepared. Respond when needed.
Why first aid matters
In an emergency, the first few minutes can be critical.
Basic first aid can help prevent a situation from becoming worse while appropriate medical care is arranged. In more serious emergencies, basic life-support measures and timely activation of emergency medical services can be crucial.
But first aid is not only about equipment.
It is about people who know how to respond calmly when something unexpected happens.

Bringing rehabilitation and emergency preparedness together
For RehabNation, this initiative reflects a broader commitment to making healthcare more accessible and community-oriented.
Our work extends beyond rehabilitation services. We believe communities benefit when people are better prepared to respond to emergencies and when basic healthcare support is available where people gather.
Public events provide an important opportunity to demonstrate this approach—bringing first aid, emergency preparedness and community health awareness into everyday spaces.
Thank you to the Emerge team
We are grateful to the management and organisers of Emerge at SKICC for giving RehabNation the opportunity to provide first-aid support during the event.
Their support allowed us to place emergency preparedness closer to the people who needed it.
We also appreciate everyone who stopped by the RehabNation kiosk, interacted with our team and recognised the importance of being prepared for emergencies.

Preparedness saves precious time
We cannot always prevent an emergency.
But we can prepare for one.
A basic understanding of first aid, knowing when to seek emergency medical help, and having trained responders available can help communities respond more effectively when it matters most.
At RehabNation, we want to help build a culture where first aid and basic life support are not seen as specialised skills reserved for healthcare professionals, but as essential life skills that can benefit everyone.

Because when an emergency happens, being prepared can make all the difference.
